Sanyu Namazzi Department of Business Excellence 

Sanyu Numazzi is the original department of the Institute, the flagship since 1999 when KMI opened in a home with two students.

Studies here focus on Uganda National Examinations Board business education standards, with careful alignment to  KMI syllabus based on United States course content. With this plan, our students are getting a superb, highly well-rounded education.

  • Diploma Executive Secretary
  • Advanced Certificate School Data Management Assistant — specializing in school office
  • Child Development Center planned for 2024/2025 (pending UNRA compensation)

Diploma Executive Secretary major 

Student learns executive-level skills for office administration. Graduate is prepared to work effectively and efficiently for diplomats, executives, managers, principals and administrators.

      • Coursework is 2 years || 7 academic quarters
      • Student is prepared for The Uganda National Examinations Board examinations to earn National Diploma in Secretarial Studies
      • Student learns additional subjects designed from USA course content to earn KMI Diploma Executive Secretary

Classes in Executive Secretary diploma course are comprehensive, content is packed and demand a lot of work. It is because of this high-impact curriculum, that some of our graduates have chosen to start personal businesses instead of seeking employment.

Admissions Requirements:

  • "O" level certificate with four credits including English or Literature, OR
  • UNEB National Certificate in Secretarial Studies, OR
  • Proof of 1 year of full-time paid work experience in clerical, secretarial or office duties
  • The above  may be modified to comply with registration requirements for external examinations.  A student sponsored by an employer could be eligible for a waiver of entry requirements.

Advanced Certificate School Data Management Assistant course – ACSM

How do you Manage a School Attendance Office? That question is successfully answered in this course.

:: This is the only course of its kind in Uganda

      • Coursework is 4 months
      • Student gains advanced skills for managing a school, institute, university office
      • Student will work more productively after finishing ACSM course. New knowledge specific for managing an educational office — different from a “general” office — is the syllabus in ACSM

Classes are taught in evening or weekend, so student can keep current job.

Admissions Requirements:

  • Certificate or diploma in secretarial or clerical studies with some knowledge of computer or typewriting, OR
  • UNEB National Certificate or Diploma in Secretarial Studies, or UNEB single secretarial subject certificates, OR
  • Proof of 1 year of paid work experience in clerical, secretarial or office duties with some computer use. A student sponsored by an employer could be eligible for a waiver of entry requirements.
